How To Make A Pinboard

You Will Need:

  • Any glue except for fabric glue and a glue stick
  • 2 or more cork placemats (I got mine from IKEA and they have trees on them, you have to use at least 2 mats because otherwise the push pin will stick out of the other side)
  • Washi tape and or duct tape (decorative tape) (optional)
  • Paint brush(optional)

Method

  1. Take your first mat (I am using three) and brush a layer of glue on top of it. (You can pick any side of the mat because this one will be at the very back)
  2. Get your next mat and place on top of the mat with the layer of glue. (Again you can put any side down because this will be the middle mat if you are using 3 mats. But if you are using 2 mats put the side you don’t want to be shown face down on the glue.) Paint one more layer of glue on the top of the second mat if you are using three or more, put some heavy books on the top of the mats to help the glue set. Leave the books on until you think the mats have dried. If you are only using two mats go straight on to step 4.
  3. Place the next mat on top of the glue, but put the side you don’t want to be seen face down on the glue, and again place some heavy books on top of the mats until you think they have dried.
  4. Next once you have stuck down all your mats, brush a layer of glue around ALL of the sides of the mat, and all the layers of your mat.
  5. (Optional) Wait for the glue on the sides to dry and place your decorative tape around the sides of the mat, to hide the fact that they used to be placemats, so it looks like one whole thing.
  6. Enjoy your new pin board!

How To Hang It Up On The Wall

If you want to hang your pinboard on the wall there are two options that I know of,

  1. Get some COMMAND PICTURE HANGING STRIPS and stick about 1 on each corner.
  2. Get some string and wrap it around 2 pushpins one on either side of the string. Then once the string is secure stick one pushpin on either side of your pinboard and hang it on the wall with some removable hooks.

How To Make A Duct Tape Ziplock Case

Things You Need:

  1. Coloured duct tape (you can buy it from Office Works or most craft store)
  2. Ziplock bag
  3. Scissors
  4. Ruler (optional(for measuring how long you want your strip of duct tape))

Method:

  1. Cut the bottom half off a ziplock bag, leaving about 1 cm of plastic underneath. Then cut about half a cm of the very top off.
  2. Once you have done that cut the ends off the sealed ziplock strip, depending how long you want it. If you want it longer you would cut off as little as possible, but if you wanted it shorter you would cut more off.
  3. Slide the two strips apart so that they are not stuck together and flip it over so that the bumpy side is facing up towards you. Cut a piece of duct tape about 2 cm longer than the ziplock strip. Stick it above the top half of the  ziplock strip. (If you don’t know which side is which, the top side is the one with the lines on it and the bottom is the half with the smooth bit.) Then once you have done that fold it over backwards and stick it to the other side that is not bumpy.
  4. Make sure you have the the coloured/patterned side facing up towards you, NOT the sticky side. Keep sticking strips of duct tape down underneath the first one until you get the size that you want your ziplock case to be.
  5. Flip the sheet over so the sticky side is facing up towards you and stick more strips of duct tape onto the sticky side to form the inside of your ziplock case.
  6. Repeat steps 3, 4, and 5 on the other ziplock seal strip to make the other side of the case.
  7. Ziplock the two sides together and stick the 3 open sides together  with 3 duct tape strips.

WELL DONE!! YOU HAVE COMPLETED MAKING YOUR VERY OWN DUCT TAPE ZIPLOCK CASE!!

How To Make Glitter Jars

You Wil Need:

  • Jar or bottle – (I got my strong plastic bottle from coles, and it is called ‘Relax Water’)
  • Clear glue – (I used ‘Elmers Washable CLEAR School Glue’ from Officeworks. It has to be clear glue, other wise your bottle will be murky and it won’t turn out clear.)
  • Glycerine
  • Stirring tool – (optional)
  • Food colouring – (the colour of your chosen glitter bottle)
  • Glitter and or Glitter glue – (I used both glitter and glitter glue and you can also mix colours of glitter)
  • Sequins (optional)

First of all if you have the same bottle as me this is how I took the label off

  1. First of all you just peel the label off, and it doesn’t matter if there is some sticky residue
  2. Second you get some tea tree or eucalyptus oil and a paper towel. Then you pour a little bit of your chosen oil onto the paper towel and begin rubbing away at the residue.
  3. Keep rubbing until all the residue is off

Method

  1. Fill up your jar/ bottle with room temperature or cold water about 1/4 of the way
  2. Add 1/2 to a full bottle of your clear glue. (The more glue you add the slower the glitter will fall)
  3. Add about 2 tablespoons of glycerine, then stir or shake
  4. Add food colouring
  5. Add glitter, glitter glue and sequins depending on which ones you want. You will end up adding about 1/2 a cup of glitter
  6. Once you add all the glitter, fill up your jar/bottle the rest of the way with water. Add more glitter if you feel like it
  7. Shake really well and YOU ARE DONE!!
